A roll up banner has about as long as it takes someone to walk past your stand to earn a second look. At an exhibition in Dubai World Trade Centre, a conference foyer in a hotel, a clinic reception or a mall activation, it competes with dozens of other banners, bright lighting and people standing in front of it. We design roll up banners, sometimes called pull up banners, for businesses in Dubai and across the UAE, and supply large format files ready for your chosen printer.

A banner draws people in; the printed material they take away does the rest. Pair it with flyer design or brochure design for handouts, and see the print design hub for every other format.

Sizes

Common roll up banner sizes in the UAE

Roll up stands are sold by visible width and height. The sizes below are widely offered, but there is no single standard, and every model hides a different amount at the base.

Visible size (width × height)Typical useLayout note
85 × 200 cmThe everyday choice for receptions, small stands and eventsNarrow: one headline of a few words, one image, one logo
100 × 200 cmStands where a little more width helps a product imageRoom for a short list of three services
120 × 200 cmExhibition backdrops and stage sidesWide enough for an image beside text rather than above it
150 × 200 cm and widerMedia walls and photo backdropsOften a repeating logo pattern rather than a message

Printers ask for extra length at the bottom that rolls into the base, and sometimes at the top for the rail. That amount differs by stand, so we always build from the template your printer supplies for the exact hardware.

Viewing distance

Reading a roll up banner from across an exhibition aisle

People read a roll up banner in three stages, each from a different distance. From across the aisle they see only shapes and a few large words. A few steps closer they read a short line. Only when they are standing at your table do they read detail. A good banner layout follows that order from top to bottom.

On a roll up banner in Dubai, the lower part is the least valuable space. On a busy stand it is hidden behind a table, a display plinth, a chair or the people you are talking to. A common problem we see is a phone number and website placed at the very bottom, exactly where nobody can see them once the event is busy.

  • Top third: logo and a headline of a few words saying what you do
  • Middle: one strong image and a single supporting line
  • Around chest height: website or QR code, where a visitor can scan comfortably
  • Lowest section: colour, pattern or nothing essential

Test before you print

  • Print the design on A4, stick it on a wall and read it from three metres
  • Cover the bottom quarter with paper and check nothing important is lost
  • View it next to a competitor’s banner photo from a past event
  • Scan the QR code from the A4 test at arm’s length
  • Ask someone outside your company what you do, after five seconds

File setup

How large format banner files are prepared

A roll up banner file for a Dubai event is not a large flyer file. It is printed on a different kind of machine, often onto film or fabric, and viewed from further away.

Scale and resolution

For a roll up banner in Dubai, some printers accept artwork built at a reduced scale, such as one tenth of final size, and others want full size. Because a banner is seen from a distance, large format printers usually accept lower image resolution at final size than a brochure would need. We follow the printer’s written specification rather than guessing.

Vector wherever possible

Logos, text and icons are kept as vector shapes so they stay sharp at two metres tall. Only photographs are raster images, and we check each one at its printed size before approval.

Delivery format

PDF/X is the family of PDF standards made for exchanging print data; ISO 15930-7 defines PDF/X-4, which supports colour managed CMYK, spot colours and transparency. Many printers ask for it, but some large format shops prefer another format, so we confirm first.

Material and lighting

Exhibition halls are brightly lit from above. Gloss film can reflect those lights across your headline, so a matt material often reads better. Fabric banners feel premium but show colour slightly softer; ask your printer for a swatch.

Arabic and English

Bilingual roll up banners for Dubai events

Fitting two languages onto a narrow 85 cm roll up banner halves the size of every word, a common constraint on Dubai stands. For events where both audiences matter, two banners, one Arabic and one English, standing side by side usually communicate far better than one crowded bilingual banner. If budget or space allows only one, we lead with the language of the main audience and keep the second language to the headline and brand name.

Arabic and English headlines of the same meaning rarely take up the same width, so each version is laid out on its own rather than mirrored. Where banners stand together as a backdrop, we align logos and headlines across all of them so the set reads as one wall.

For your roll up banner brief

  • The event, venue and date
  • Stand model or visible size, and the printer’s template
  • What visitors should understand in five seconds
  • The action you want: visit, scan, book or call
  • Photos or product images at full resolution
  • Languages and how many banners
  • Your stand plan, if there is more than one banner

Getting more from an event

A roll up banner, a stand and a pile of handouts should look like one company at any Dubai event. Bring business cards that match the banner for the conversations it starts, and use the same headline and imagery in ad design and social media design announcing that you are exhibiting. If the banner exposes that your brand has no consistent look, brand identity design is worth doing before the next show.

We work through Brief, Proposal, Create, Review and Deliver, and the final files are named with the stand size and language. Send your event date and stand details for a written fixed price proposal within 45 minutes during business hours.

Frequently asked questions

Can the same design be used for a wider or taller stand?

Not by stretching it. A wider stand changes the proportions, so the headline, image and logo need to be rearranged rather than scaled. We supply each size as its own file built from the same master design.

How many roll up banners do we need for an exhibition stand?

It depends on the stand size and what else is on it. A small shell scheme stand often uses one or two banners to frame a table, while larger spaces may use three side by side to form a backdrop. Send us the stand plan and we will suggest a layout.

Can you replace just the graphic in our existing stand?

Yes, many stands accept a new printed graphic in the same base. Measure the visible width and the full length of the old print, or send the model name, and ask your printer whether they can fit a replacement into that cassette.

What will roll up banner design cost?

The price depends on how many banners, sizes and language versions you need. You receive a fixed written quote, scoped to your brief, once we have the details.
