What makes a logo work

A logo design in Dubai has to survive the smallest place it will ever appear

Most logo problems we see from businesses in Dubai are not about taste. They are practical: a mark with fine detail that turns into a smudge as a browser tab icon, a wide wordmark that cannot fit a round Instagram avatar, or an English only logo that looks lost next to the Arabic on a shop sign. Logo design in the UAE has to account for all of those from the first sketch.

So we test concepts at their extremes early: a few pixels wide, embroidered size, in one colour, reversed out of a dark photo and beside Arabic text. A concept that fails those tests is dropped before you invest time falling in love with it.

Tests every concept goes through

  • Legible at favicon and app icon size
  • Fits a circular profile crop
  • Works in solid black and in solid white
  • Survives single colour print, embroidery and engraving
  • Balances beside an Arabic wordmark

The logo pack

What your logo design file pack for Dubai contains, and what each file is for

The logo is only as useful as the files you can find on the day a printer, developer or exhibition stand builder asks for them. Every pack comes with an index explaining which file suits which job.

FileVersionsUse it for
SVGFull colour, mono black, mono whiteWebsites, apps and anywhere a developer needs sharp scaling at any size
PDF and EPS vectorPrint colour, full colour, monoPrinters, signage makers, vehicle wraps, embroidery and promotional items
PNG with transparent backgroundSeveral pixel sizes in colour and monoOffice documents, presentations, marketplace profiles and quick social use
JPGOn whiteForms and portals that refuse transparent files
Favicon setSquare symbol at multiple sizesBrowser tabs, bookmarks and search results
Profile avatarSymbol centred for a circular cropInstagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, WhatsApp Business and Google Business Profile
LockupsHorizontal, stacked and symbol onlyWide headers, narrow sidebars and tight spaces

On favicons, Google Search Central states the icon must be square and at least 8 × 8 px, recommends larger than 48 × 48 px so it looks good across surfaces, and asks that the favicon URL stays stable. We supply the symbol accordingly.

Mono and reversed

The versions people forget until they need them

Colour logos get all the attention during approval. The plain versions do most of the daily work.

One colour

For rubber stamps, engraved plaques, laser cut acrylic, single colour printing and black and white document scans.

Reversed

A white version designed, not just inverted, for dark photos, uniforms and video overlays. Some marks need slightly thicker strokes when reversed.

Clear space and minimum size

A simple rule for how much empty space surrounds the logo and the smallest size it may be used at, so partners do not crowd or shrink it.

Arabic versions

Arabic logo design for signage and documents in Dubai

Many businesses in the UAE show their name in Arabic as well as English on shopfronts, vehicles and printed documents. An Arabic version is best designed with the logo, rather than added later by a sign maker using whatever font is to hand.

We draw the Arabic name to match the Latin logo’s weight and character, then build lockups for both reading directions: Arabic on the right in right to left layouts, and a stacked option where width is tight. If your name has no obvious Arabic form, we agree the spelling with you and a native reader before drawing starts.

Arabic set in the pack

  • Arabic wordmark on its own
  • Bilingual horizontal and stacked lockups
  • Mono and reversed Arabic versions
  • Vector and transparent PNG formats

Trademark

Trademark registration for logo design in Dubai is a separate legal step

Designing a logo does not protect it. In the UAE, trademarks are registered with the Ministry of Economy and Tourism, and that process is handled by the owner or a registered agent, not by a design studio. Here is what the Ministry’s own service page describes.

  1. Application

Companies, establishments and individuals can apply. The application lists the goods or services to be protected with their classification and attaches a copy of the mark as a JPEG, plus a trade licence copy for companies.

  2. Examination

The Ministry checks the mark is not identical or similar to one already registered or applied for, and states it notifies the applicant of its decision within 20 days of submission.

  3. Objection period and certificate

If accepted, the application passes through an objection period, after which the registration certificate is issued.

  4. Owners outside the UAE

An owner located outside the country must apply through a registration agent, with a notarised and legally translated power of attorney.

Summary of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism service pages as read on 13 September 2026. This is not legal advice; speak to a registered trademark agent or lawyer before filing.

After the logo design in Dubai is approved

Our six stages, Brief, Proposal, Create, Review, Deliver and Improve, end with the file pack, but the logo’s first real test is how it is applied. If you need colours, typography and guidelines around the mark, see brand identity design. A moving version for videos and reels is covered by logo animation. The first printed pieces are usually business cards and a company stamp, and online, your new mark goes straight into social media design. Every visual service is on the design services hub.

Frequently asked questions

How many concepts will we see?

The number of initial routes is agreed in your written proposal, based on how open the brief is. We would rather show a few well reasoned directions than a wall of quick variations, because it makes the choice easier.

Can you redraw our existing logo?

Yes. If your logo only exists as a low resolution image or was built in a tool that cannot export vectors, we can redraw it cleanly and produce the full file pack, keeping the design as it is or refining details you approve.

Do you register the trademark for us?

No. We design the logo and supply the image files an application needs. Registration is a legal process with the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism, normally handled by the owner or a registered trademark agent or lawyer.

Which file do we send to a signage company or printer?

Usually the vector file, as SVG, PDF or EPS depending on what they request, in the colour version for their process. The file index in your pack says which file suits which job, so you do not need to guess.

Is a logo enough, or do we need a full brand identity?

A logo with a proper file pack is enough for many small businesses starting out. If you are planning packaging, multiple locations or a bilingual campaign, the wider system of colours, type and guidelines saves time and inconsistency later.
