What this service covers

Community management in Dubai: the conversation after you post

Community management is everything that happens once content is live: comments, direct messages, mentions, reviews and replies on ads. For businesses in Dubai it usually means two languages, several platforms and customers who expect an answer the same day. Planning and publishing posts is a separate job, covered by social media marketing.

Response handling

A triage system so questions, complaints and sales enquiries each get the right kind of reply from the right person.

Moderation

Published house rules and a record of what was hidden and why, so decisions are consistent rather than personal.

Escalation

Named people inside your business for refunds, legal questions, safety issues and press, with a clear point at which the agency stops replying.

Response handling

Community management triage for Dubai: sort every message before you answer it

The first decision is not what to say but what kind of message this is. Each type has its own route.

Moderation rules

Community management house rules for Dubai you can point to

Moderation feels arbitrary when it lives in one person’s head. We write a short set of house rules, publish them on your page or website, and moderate against that text. When someone asks why a comment disappeared, there is a rule to cite.

The platforms give you tools to enforce them. Instagram, for example, lets an account keep a custom list of words, phrases, numbers and emojis that are hidden from comments and message requests. Its help centre also notes that hidden comments still count in the total comment figure and that the person who wrote a hidden comment is not told. That makes hiding a quiet tool, and it should be used for spam and abuse rather than for criticism.

  • Hide: spam, scam links, slurs, other people’s personal details
  • Leave and answer: honest complaints, however blunt
  • Report and block: impersonation, threats, repeated harassment
  • Log every hidden or deleted item with date, reason and screenshot

Keyword list starters

  • Competitor giveaway and fake prize phrases
  • Profanity in English, Arabic script and Arabizi spellings
  • Phone number and IBAN patterns
  • Crypto and loan scam wording
  • Names of staff who have been targeted before

UAE content rules

What community management in Dubai must never do

Replies are published content. In the UAE that means they sit under the same national rules as a post or an ad. This is a practical summary, not legal advice; your legal adviser has the final word.

Media content standards

The National Media Authority’s published standards include respecting religions and beliefs, respecting individuals’ privacy, not offending prevailing social values, and not spreading rumours, misleading news or incorrectly attributed material. A witty comeback that mocks a customer’s background fails that test.

No insults back

Article 43 of Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021 makes it an offence to use an information network to insult another person. However unfair a review is, the brand reply stays factual and polite.

Privacy in replies

Article 44 of the same law covers publishing photos, comments or information about someone with intent to harm them, even where true. Never quote a customer’s booking details, CCTV stills or past messages publicly to prove a point.

Check before sharing

Article 52 covers circulating false news and rumours. Before resharing a claim about a road closure, a recall or a competitor, confirm it with the official source.

Escalation

Four community management levels for Dubai, agreed before the first difficult message

  1. Level one: answer

Routine questions and simple complaints handled from the approved answer bank.

  2. Level two: consult

Refund requests, stock or booking problems. The community manager holds the thread with a holding reply and asks your service lead.

  3. Level three: pause

A complaint gaining traction, a staff conduct allegation or an influencer post. Scheduled posts and linked ads are reviewed, and management decides the public line.

  4. Level four: stop

Legal threats, safety incidents, regulator contact or press. The agency stops replying and your legal or communications lead takes over.

Arabic and English replies

Community management in Dubai: answer in the language the customer chose

A customer who writes in Gulf Arabic and receives a stiff formal reply, or a machine translation, notices immediately. Replies match the language of the message, and the register follows the customer: warm and conversational for a casual question, more formal for a complaint. Arabizi, Arabic written in Latin letters, is common in comments and gets an Arabic script or English reply depending on your brand guidelines.

The answer bank is written in both languages from the start rather than translated later. For longer bilingual messaging, our Arabic and English translation and social media copywriting teams write the source text.

Frequently asked questions

Do you reply to comments on our ads as well as organic posts?

Yes. Comments on paid posts are often where objections and price questions appear first, so they sit in the same inbox and follow the same playbook. We coordinate with whoever runs the campaigns so an ad with a problem in its comments can be paused.

Should we delete negative comments?

Usually not. Hiding or deleting genuine criticism tends to make it louder elsewhere. Genuine complaints get a public acknowledgement and move to a private channel; abuse, spam and personal data get hidden under your published house rules.

What hours do you cover?

Coverage hours are agreed in the brief and written into the playbook, along with what happens to messages that arrive outside them. We do not offer round the clock monitoring, so the playbook also sets an auto reply and an out of hours contact for genuine emergencies.

How is community management priced?

You get a fixed written quote, scoped to your brief, based on the channels covered, languages and expected message volume. Ongoing coverage is quoted per month on the same basis.

Can you handle Google reviews too?

Yes, review replies follow the same tone and escalation rules as social comments. We draft replies in the reviewer's language and flag any review that mentions a safety, legal or staff conduct issue to your named contact first.
