Ecommerce solutions for launching an online store in Dubai involve more decisions than most retailers expect. Which platform, which payment provider, how delivery fees work across the emirates, whether customers can pay on delivery, how Arabic product pages are managed, what a VAT registered business has to show on an invoice. Get these wrong and the store technically works but loses sales at checkout or creates admin every day.

Our ecommerce solutions for Dubai businesses cover the store build and everything around it that affects selling: payments, delivery, tax invoices, stock and tracking. Because we also run advertising and search, the store is set up from day one with the product feeds, events and page structure that campaigns need. It is part of our web services, and the design side is covered under web design.

Platforms

Choosing an ecommerce solutions platform for a Dubai business

For ecommerce solutions in Dubai, the best platform is the one your team can run and your integrations support. These are the options we most often compare.

PlatformSuitsConsider
ShopifyBrands wanting a hosted platform with little server management and a large app ecosystemMonthly plan and app subscriptions, less control over URL structure and checkout customisation
WooCommerceBusinesses with content heavy sites, specific product logic, or a WordPress site already in placeYou are responsible for hosting, updates and security, so ongoing maintenance matters
Headless or custom buildLarge catalogues, complex pricing, ticketing or rental models, integration with ERP systemsHigher build effort and a development team needed for changes
Marketplaces alongside a storeBrands wanting reach on Noon or Amazon while building their own channelSeparate listing work, see our ecommerce marketplace services

Payments

Payment gateways and checkout for ecommerce solutions in Dubai

Dubai shoppers expect card payments, and many also look for digital wallets, buy now pay later options and cash on delivery, which is why ecommerce solutions need flexible checkout options. Gateway providers vary in the methods they support, how quickly they settle funds, which platforms they integrate with and what documents they need for approval. We compare these against your products and customers rather than recommending one provider for everyone.

Card security is governed by PCI DSS, the standard published by the PCI Security Standards Council, which applies to organisations that store, process or transmit cardholder data. Using a gateway’s hosted or embedded payment fields keeps card numbers off your own server, which reduces how much of that burden falls on you. The council notes that compliance requirements are set by payment brands and acquirers, so your gateway’s onboarding team confirms what you must complete.

Checkout decisions to make early

  • Card, wallet, instalment and cash on delivery options
  • Guest checkout or account required
  • Delivery fees and zones across the emirates
  • Prices shown including VAT
  • Arabic checkout with right to left forms
  • Order updates by email, SMS or WhatsApp
  • Returns and refund policy linked at checkout

VAT invoices

What the Federal Tax Authority requires on an ecommerce solutions tax invoice in Dubai

If your business is VAT registered, the invoices your store generates have to meet the UAE Federal Tax Authority’s rules, and most store platforms need configuring to do so. The FTA’s guide on tax invoices says a tax invoice must be issued and delivered within 14 calendar days of the taxable supply. A simplified tax invoice may be issued when the customer is not VAT registered, as with most consumer orders, or when a registered customer’s purchase is at or below a value threshold set out in the guide.

The FTA also allows tax invoices to be issued electronically, provided a copy is stored securely under record keeping rules and the authenticity and integrity of the invoice are assured. Separately, the FTA is introducing a UAE e-invoicing programme in which structured invoice data is exchanged and reported electronically; it states that PDFs and scanned images do not count as e-invoices. Your tax adviser should confirm how that affects your business.

A full FTA tax invoice shows

  • The words “tax invoice” clearly displayed
  • Sequential or unique invoice number
  • Date of issue, and date of supply if different
  • Supplier name, address and TRN
  • Recipient name, address and TRN if registered
  • Description, quantity, unit price and VAT rate
  • Amounts payable and total VAT in UAE dirhams
  • Any discount offered

Operations

Ecommerce solutions: delivery, stock and the work behind each order

In ecommerce solutions for Dubai, the part customers never see is where most daily time goes. We plan it with the people who will pack and ship.

Courier integration

Shipping rates, labels and tracking links pulled from your courier where an integration exists, so staff are not copying addresses by hand.

Stock in one place

Inventory synced between the store, a physical shop and marketplaces, to stop selling items you no longer have.

Cash on delivery

Order statuses that separate paid, awaiting collection and refused orders, so reporting reflects money actually received.

Bilingual catalogue

Arabic and English product fields kept together, so a new product is never live in one language only.

Ready to sell

Ecommerce solutions built to be marketed from launch day

Ecommerce solutions in Dubai that cannot report sales by channel make every marketing decision a guess.

Purchase tracking

GA4 recommended ecommerce events, from view_item through add_to_cart and begin_checkout to purchase, with order value. Set up and checked by our web analytics team.

Search ready structure

Clean category hierarchy, controlled filters and product markup in place, so ecommerce SEO starts from a sound base.

Customer data flows

Customers who opt in synced to your email platform for abandoned cart and post purchase flows run through email marketing.

Frequently asked questions

Which payment gateway should we use?

It depends on your licence, the card types and wallets your customers use, settlement times, and whether your platform supports the gateway natively. Gateways ask for company documents during onboarding and approval can take a while, so we suggest starting the application early. The final choice of provider is yours, and the account is opened in your company's name.

Should we sell on our own store or on marketplaces?

Many UAE brands do both. Marketplaces bring ready demand but control the customer relationship and charge fees on each sale, while your own store keeps the data and the margin but needs marketing to bring visitors. Our marketplace team can run the Noon and Amazon side alongside your store.

Can you move our existing store to a new platform?

Yes. Products, customers and order history are migrated where the platforms allow it, and every old product and category URL is redirected to its new address. We run the migration on a copy first and compare product counts before switching over.

Who manages products after launch?

Your team, in most cases. Handover training plus a recorded walkthrough covers adding products, running discounts and processing orders. If you prefer us to handle catalogue updates or campaigns, that can be scoped as ongoing work.

How is an ecommerce project priced?

We send a fixed written quote scoped to your brief, within 45 minutes during business hours and with no obligation. Catalogue size, the number of languages, integrations such as ERP or delivery systems, and custom features are the main factors.
