Choosing

Match the piece to the job it has to do

Most print requests in the UAE fall into three families: pieces that sell, pieces that make a company look official, and pieces people keep. Start from the job, then pick the format.

You need toBest fitWhy
Announce one offer, opening or eventFlyerOne sheet and one message, easy to hand out in volume
Explain a service range on a single folded sheetBrochurePanels let a reader move from promise to detail to contact
Present a company profile, programme or manualBookletEnough pages for real content, bound so it survives handling
Send letters, quotations and formal noticesLetterhead and envelopeCarries the company particulars and keeps correspondence consistent
Endorse documents and delivery notesCompany stampShows the licensed trade name in a form banks and authorities recognise
Recognise staff, trainees or partnersCertificateA formal record people frame, file or add to a portfolio
Thank clients or mark Ramadan, Eid or a launchCorporate giftsBranded items that stay on a desk long after a campaign ends

Restaurants and cafés usually start with menu design, retailers with hang tags, and exhibitors with a roll up banner. Those pages cover their own formats.

What you receive

Print design files a Dubai printer can use without calling you back

A design that looks right on screen can still fail at the press. Colours shift, text lands in the trim, and Arabic letters break apart when a font is substituted. Every piece in this group is finished against a checklist before it leaves us, and we ask for your printer’s own specification first, because presses, stamp makers and gift suppliers each set their own limits.

Print design for Dubai clients is prepared for four colour process printing, the method offset presses use. The international reference for controlling that process is ISO 12647-2, and many printers ask for files prepared to a profile based on it. Screens show colour in RGB, so we check critical brand colours in CMYK or as named spot colours before approval rather than after the proof arrives.

Standard print file checklist

  • Trim size agreed with your printer
  • Bleed added wherever colour or images reach the edge
  • Text and logos kept inside the safe area
  • Colour converted for print, spot colours named
  • Fonts embedded so Arabic joins correctly
  • Images checked at their printed size
  • Crop marks and a clearly named PDF

Two languages

Arabic and English that read properly on paper

Bilingual print is normal in Dubai and it is where most avoidable errors appear.

Direction drives layout

The W3C Arabic layout requirements note that when Arabic is the main script, pages and documents are also set from right to left. That changes panel order on a brochure, binding side on a booklet and where the eye lands first on a letterhead.

Numbers run the other way

Phone numbers, licence numbers and dates stay left to right inside Arabic text. We check every mixed line by eye, because a reversed digit on a stamp or certificate is expensive to fix once produced.

Spelling from the source

Arabic company names are taken from your licence, not retyped from memory. If the copy itself needs writing or translating, our Arabic and English translation service covers marketing text.

Paper sizes

Why most Dubai print design starts with A4

Offices across the UAE use the ISO 216 A series, where each size is half the one above it: A3, A4, A5, A6. Designing to that system means a letter fits its envelope, a flyer can be cut from a standard sheet and a booklet folds from a larger page with no waste. Special sizes are possible, but it pays to confirm them with the printer early, because unusual trims can mean custom cutting.

How a print job runs

From brief to press PDF

Print design projects in Dubai follow the same six stages as the rest of our work. The brief matters most here: tell us the quantity, the printer or supplier, where the piece will be used and who reads it first, Arabic or English readers. Related brand work sits under brand identity design and logo design.

  1. 01

    Brief

You tell us what you need, who it is for and what it has to achieve. A short call or a WhatsApp message is enough to start.

  2. 02

    Proposal

A written scope and a fixed price within 45 minutes during business hours. No obligation.

  3. 03

    Create

Design, writing, production or build, done by the people who specialise in that exact work.

  4. 04

    Review

You see the work before it goes anywhere, comment in one place, and approve it.

  5. 05

    Deliver

Final files, live campaigns or a launched site, handed over with everything you need to use them.

  6. 06

    Improve

Where the work is ongoing, we measure what happened and decide the next step with you.

Frequently asked questions

Do you print the work as well?

No. We design and prepare the files, and you place the order with the printer, stamp maker or gift supplier you prefer. If you already have a supplier, tell us at the brief stage so we can build the files to their specification from the start.

Can you match print to our existing brand guidelines?

Yes. Send the guidelines, logo files and any colour references you have. If there are no guidelines yet, we can agree a small set of rules for colour, type and logo use before the first piece is designed, so later pieces stay consistent.

How is a print project priced?

Every project gets a fixed written quote, scoped to your brief. We send a written fixed price proposal within 45 minutes during business hours, with no obligation to go ahead.

Can one brief cover several print pieces?

Yes, and it often works out better. A letterhead, envelope and stamp briefed together share the same name block, address wording and Arabic spelling, which removes a whole class of errors.

Which file formats will we receive?

The main deliverable is a press PDF built to your printer's specification, with trim marks and bleed where needed. For items like letterheads and certificates we can also supply an editable template for everyday use in the office.
