WhatsApp API integration on the WhatsApp Business Platform: the Cloud API, approved message templates, opt in, the customer service window, handover to a human agent, and a connection through to the CRM your sales team already uses.
WhatsApp API integration is what turns a personal WhatsApp Business number into a channel that a whole team, or an automated flow, can use properly: multiple agents replying from one number, order and appointment confirmations sent automatically, and a full conversation history that lands in your CRM instead of on someone’s phone. We build this on Meta’s own WhatsApp Business Platform, the Cloud API specifically, so the integration follows the platform’s rules rather than a workaround that risks the number being restricted.
This sits inside our wider web services, and pairs closely with website development for the site the WhatsApp button lives on, and with enterprise software development when the CRM side needs custom work.
The platform
Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform gives programmatic access to WhatsApp through the Cloud API, built on the same Graph API infrastructure as Meta’s other business tools.
Meta hosts the API, so there is no server of your own to run for the messaging layer itself. Text, images, documents, buttons and location messages are all supported message types.
The WhatsApp Business Account, phone number and message templates are managed here, and this is also where a number’s quality rating and messaging limits are visible.
Incoming messages and delivery status updates arrive as webhook events, which is how a CRM or support desk stays in step with what happened on WhatsApp in real time.
Meta’s documentation states that opt in for messaging must clearly name your business and the type of messages a customer will receive, so WhatsApp API integration always includes a proper opt in step, not a box ticked on a customer’s behalf.
Message templates
Outside an open conversation, WhatsApp API integration can only send a message using a template that Meta has approved in advance. Meta’s own documentation is direct about this: template messages are the only type of message that can reach a WhatsApp user outside a customer service window, which is why every automated flow, from an order confirmation to an appointment reminder, is built around a template rather than free text.
Templates fall into three categories that Meta defines: utility, for things like order and appointment updates; marketing, for promotional content; and authentication, for one time codes. Each template is submitted for review and typically approved within a few hours, though Meta can also reject a template that does not match its stated category or content rules.
The service window
When a customer messages your WhatsApp number, or calls it, a 24 hour customer service window opens. Inside that window, Meta’s platform allows free form replies of any of its supported message types; the timer resets each time the customer messages again, and once the window closes without a new message from them, only a pre approved template can be sent. WhatsApp API integration builds this rule into the flow logic itself, so an agent or an automation is never able to accidentally send a free form message the platform would reject.
Consent sits alongside this. Under the UAE’s Federal Decree Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, consent to process personal data must be clear, specific and easy to withdraw, and a data subject can withdraw it at any time. This is not legal advice, and a business should confirm its own obligations with a qualified advisor, but in practice that means recording when and how a customer opted in to WhatsApp messages, and building an easy way for them to opt out.
Handover
Automated replies are useful for the first response and simple questions, but WhatsApp API integration is only as good as the moment it recognises it should step aside.
A customer types a request for a person, or the flow reaches a question it is not built to answer, and the conversation is flagged.
The conversation, with its full history, is routed to an available agent through your CRM or support desk rather than starting again from a blank message.
Order numbers, previous replies and any details already collected by the automated flow travel with the conversation, so the customer is not asked to repeat themselves.
Whether a conversation is with a bot, waiting for an agent, or resolved is visible on the record, so nothing sits unanswered without anyone noticing.

No. The free WhatsApp Business app is for one person on one device. WhatsApp API integration connects your website, CRM or support desk to the WhatsApp Business Platform's Cloud API, so several agents and automated messages can work through the same business number at once.
No. Meta's platform separates two situations: inside the 24 hour customer service window opened by a customer's message, you can send free form replies; outside it, only a pre approved message template can be sent, and the customer must have opted in to receive it.
No provider can promise that. Delivery depends on the customer's phone, network and notification settings, and on Meta's own template approval and quality rating for your number. We set up delivery status webhooks so your team can see what actually happened to each message, rather than promising a rate.
The integration includes a handover rule: a customer can ask for a person, or the automated flow reaches a point it cannot resolve, and the conversation is flagged and routed to a live agent, with the message history intact.
Usually, yes. Incoming and outgoing messages, and the customer's opt in status, are pushed to your CRM through its API or a middleware tool, so the conversation sits on the same customer record as email and call history.
