Social media marketing: what you publish, and why

Social media marketing is the unpaid side of social: choosing channels, deciding what your business in Dubai stands for online, planning content and publishing it consistently. Paid campaigns are a separate discipline, handled on social media advertising, and replies to comments and messages are covered by community management. The three work best when planned together.

Strategy

Which channels, which audiences, what role social plays next to your website, email and sales team.

Calendar

A shared plan of posts in Arabic and English with owners, deadlines and approval status.

Review

A monthly look at what people saved, shared and acted on, feeding the next month’s plan.

Channel choice

Choosing social media marketing channels for Dubai

Every channel added is a commitment to feed it. We recommend starting with the channels where your buyers already are and where your team can supply material.

ChannelOrganic strengthWhat it asks of you
InstagramVisual proof: food, interiors, fashion, clinics, property, eventsRegular photos and short video, Stories for day to day moments
TikTokPersonality and process, behind the scenes, how it is madePeople willing to appear on camera and a quick filming routine
LinkedInB2B credibility, hiring, founder and expert voicesLeaders who post from their own profiles as well as the company page
FacebookCommunity groups, events, older and family audiencesEvent details kept current and steady posting
YouTubeLonger explainers and tutorials that stay searchablePlanned scripts and more production time per video

Starting point

An honest social media marketing audit of your Dubai accounts

Most businesses come to us with accounts already running, often set up by a former employee or a previous agency. Before any new plan, we check who actually controls each account, whether the profiles say the same thing, and what the last few months of posts achieved. It is common to find a dormant channel still linked from the website, or a business account registered to a personal email that nobody can access.

The audit ends with a short recommendation: which accounts to keep, which to pause, and what to fix first. That becomes the basis of the strategy you approve.

Audit covers

  • Admin access held by your company, with two named owners
  • Name, bio, contact details and links consistent across channels
  • Arabic and English profile text
  • Highlights, pinned posts and link in bio still current
  • Recent posts grouped by theme and by result

Content pillars

Four pillars keep the feed from drifting

Good social media marketing for a Dubai feed rests on pillars, the recurring themes every post belongs to. They stop the calendar turning into a run of promotions, and they make briefing designers and writers faster.

Proof

Finished work, product in use, before and after where allowed, customer stories shared with permission.

Know how

Tips, answers to common questions, myths corrected by the people who do the work.

People

Team, suppliers, the founder’s view, the day to day of running the business in the UAE.

Offer

Launches, seasonal menus, bookings open, limited dates. Kept to a minority of posts.

Calendars and approvals

A bilingual social media marketing calendar your team can approve

The calendar is a shared sheet or planning board, not a folder of images. Each row is one post with everything needed to publish it, so nobody is chasing a caption at six in the evening. Arabic captions are written alongside the English ones rather than translated the night before, because wordplay, humour and calls to action rarely survive direct translation.

We plan around the UAE year: Ramadan and the two Eids change tone, timing and what is appropriate to post, while UAE National Day, school terms, summer travel and the Dubai events season shift attention. Those periods are planned weeks ahead with your approval, not improvised.

Visuals come from social media design and short video from social media videography, with captions by social media copywriting.

Every calendar row holds

  • Publish date, time and channel
  • Pillar and the goal of the post
  • Format: carousel, Reel, Story, document, text
  • English caption and Arabic caption
  • Asset link and who supplies it
  • Link or call to action
  • Approval status and approver’s name

Posting rules in the UAE

Three social media marketing checks before a Dubai post is scheduled

National standards

The National Media Authority’s content standards cover respect for religions and national identity, privacy, not spreading rumours, children’s rights and its age rating system. Organic posts are published content and fall within them just as ads do.

People in photos and video

Article 44 of Federal Decree Law No. 34 of 2021 lists taking photos of others in public or private places among acts that invade privacy when done without consent. Get written consent from customers, and from staff, before they appear in posts.

Staff and ambassadors

If employees or brand ambassadors promote you from their personal accounts, the Authority’s advertiser permit for individuals publishing advertising content, paid or unpaid, may apply. Confirm before building a staff advocacy plan.

Monthly review

Measuring organic social media marketing by actions, not applause

Likes are the weakest signal a post gives. The review looks first at saves and shares, which show content worth keeping or passing on, then at profile visits, link clicks, direction requests and messages started, which show intent. Posts that do well organically are flagged as candidates for paid promotion, and recurring questions in comments go into the content marketing plan.

Review agenda

  • Top and bottom posts by saves, shares and clicks
  • Pillar balance against the plan
  • Arabic versus English performance
  • Posts to hand to the paid team
  • Next month’s calendar changes

Frequently asked questions

How many times a week should we post?

As often as you can keep quality and consistency, not a number copied from a blog. A smaller business is usually better served by fewer, stronger posts on two channels than daily filler on five. The calendar is sized to what your team can review and supply.

Can you grow our followers?

We do not promise follower numbers, and bought or bot followers damage accounts. The work focuses on content that the right people save, share and act on; follower growth that follows from that is a by product, not the target.

Who approves posts before they go out?

One named person on your side, agreed in the brief, with a backup for holidays. Posts touching legal, medical, financial or pricing claims get a second check from the relevant department before scheduling.

What does social media marketing cost?

Each engagement starts with a fixed written quote, scoped to your brief, covering channels, languages and the number of posts per month. Ongoing publishing is quoted per month once the strategy is agreed.
