We plan, build and audit measurement for UAE businesses: GA4, Google Tag Manager, consent mode, WhatsApp and call tracking, and server side tagging where it earns its cost.
A web analytics story we hear often from Dubai businesses goes like this. GA4 was installed when the website launched, nobody defined what a lead is, and now the Google Ads account is optimising towards page views or double counted form clicks. Decisions about budget, landing pages and even hiring are being made from numbers that do not reflect what customers actually did.
Our web analytics work for Dubai businesses fixes the foundation first: a written measurement plan, a clean Tag Manager container, events that match real business outcomes, and consent handled properly. It links directly to the campaigns we run under Google Ads management and social media advertising, and to the rest of our web services.
Method
In web analytics for a Dubai site, tags come last. The thinking that decides what to tag comes first.
We agree with you which actions matter: a completed enquiry form, a call tap, a WhatsApp tap, a booking, a purchase. Each becomes a named event with a clear trigger.
Duplicate tags, hardcoded scripts, missing cross domain settings, internal traffic and referral spam are listed before anything is changed.
Tags, triggers and variables are built in a workspace, named consistently and tested in preview mode on desktop and mobile.
Google describes key events as actions particularly important to your business. Marked events feed reports and can be imported into Google Ads as conversions.
A tracking sheet lists every event, its trigger and its purpose, so the next developer or agency does not have to reverse engineer the container.
Event map
Names and triggers are adjusted to your site. This table is the starting point we work from.
| Action | How it is triggered | Watch for |
|---|---|---|
| Enquiry form completed | Success message, thank you page or a data layer push from the form plugin | Tracking the submit button counts failed and empty attempts |
| WhatsApp tap | Tag Manager click trigger on links whose URL contains wa.me or api.whatsapp.com | Floating chat widgets that do not use a normal link need their own trigger |
| Call tap | Click trigger on links starting tel: | Desktop visitors rarely call from the site, so read this per device |
| Email tap | Click trigger on mailto: links | Low value on its own; useful for spotting contact page friction |
| Product views to purchase | GA4 recommended ecommerce events such as view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout and purchase | Purchase must fire once per order, not on every refresh of the confirmation page |
Tag Manager offers two click trigger types, All Elements and Just Links, and lets a trigger fire only on some clicks that match a URL condition. Stores built through our ecommerce solutions service ship with the purchase events in place.
Consent
In web analytics for Dubai sites, consent mode lets Google tags change their behaviour according to what a visitor has agreed to. Google’s documentation lists four consent types: ad_storage, analytics_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization. A default state is set before any consent is given, then updated when the visitor responds to your banner.
Google Ads Help sets out the two implementations. In basic consent mode, tags are blocked until the visitor interacts with the banner and nothing is sent before then. In advanced consent mode, tags load with defaults set to denied and, when consent is refused, send the consent state and cookieless pings, which supports more detailed conversion modelling. Which suits you depends on your visitors and your legal advice. Many Dubai businesses advertise to visitors in Europe and the UK, where consent expectations are strict, so we ask where your audience is before recommending either.
Server side tagging
In web analytics for a standard Dubai setup, the visitor’s browser sends data straight to Google and every other vendor. With server side tagging, data goes first to a tagging server you control, and Google’s introduction explains that you then decide how that data is shaped and where it is sent. The container uses the same tag, trigger and variable model as a web container. Google recommends Cloud Run for hosting it.
That control has a running cost: the server is infrastructure you pay for and someone must maintain. We recommend it when ad spend is large enough that better data quality matters, when you want to strip or hash personal details before they leave your systems, or when many third party scripts are hurting page speed. For a small brochure site it is usually unnecessary.
Settings people forget
In web analytics for a Dubai property, each of these is a few minutes of work, and each one is often missing on properties we inherit.
Standard properties can keep user and event level data for 2 or 14 months. Google notes this affects explorations and funnel reports, not standard reports, so set it to 14 months early.
Office and agency visits filtered out, so staff checking the site all day do not inflate engagement.
GA4 linked to Google Ads so key events and audiences flow into campaigns, including those for PPC advertising and landing page tests.

Installing the tag takes minutes; making the data trustworthy is the real job. Common faults are the tag loading twice, internal traffic counted as customers, forms tracked on button press rather than success, and no key events marked at all. An audit shows which of these apply to your property.
On the website we can track the tap that opens WhatsApp, which records intent and the page it came from. What happens inside the chat is not visible to GA4. To close that loop, sales needs to log the lead in a CRM, ideally with the prefilled message or a reference that shows its source.
Every script has some cost. Loading tags through Tag Manager with specific firing rules, removing unused tags and avoiding duplicate libraries keeps the impact small, and server side tagging can move some vendor code off the page entirely.
We ask to be added as a user with the role the task needs, never for your password. The GA4 property, Tag Manager container and Ads account stay owned by your company, and access can be removed when the work ends.
Yes, once the underlying events are reliable. We usually build a short report in Looker Studio covering leads by channel, landing page performance and ad spend against key events, rather than a wall of charts nobody reads.
