Print ready file checklist before you send artwork to a printer in Dubai
The questions, PDF/X settings and final checks that turn artwork into files a printer in Dubai can run without calling you back.

Training, award, membership and recognition certificates designed in Arabic and English, set up for names to be merged from a spreadsheet, and supplied as print ready files for the printer you choose.
A certificate is one of the few pieces of print people keep for years. It gets framed in a clinic reception, filed with a CV, photographed for LinkedIn or presented on stage at an annual dinner. We design certificates for training centres, corporate academies, conferences, schools running internal programmes and companies recognising their staff in Dubai and across the UAE. The aim is a document that feels formal, reads correctly in two languages and is hard to fake.
This page covers the certificates we design, where the line sits with official documents, the details a certificate should record, and how to produce many personalised copies without errors. The full set of stationery formats is on the print design hub.
Scope
Official certificates, such as academic degrees, government issued licences and civil records, are issued by the authority responsible for them. When those documents need to be used formally, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs attestation service certifies the authenticity of the signatures and seals on them. A design agency does not create or validate those documents, and we do not design anything that imitates them.
What we design in Dubai are certificates your own organisation issues under its own name: course completion, professional development hours, award winners, event participation, membership, long service and partner recognition. If you are a licensed training provider, ask your licensing authority whether it sets wording or approval rules for the certificates you issue, and share those rules in the brief.
Federal Law No. 7 of 1972 reserves the national emblem for official records and documents and does not allow its use for commercial purposes without permission from the President, so the UAE falcon emblem does not belong on a company certificate.
Content
A certificate is evidence. If someone checks it in three years, it should answer who, what, when and who says so, without needing a covering email.
Full name spelled as the recipient wants it shown, in English, Arabic or both. Collect the spelling on the registration form, not from an attendance sheet.
Programme or award title, a short line on what was completed, and the number of hours or modules if relevant.
Issue date, and the course dates where they differ. Include the city if events run in several emirates or countries.
Name and title of each signatory, with space for a real signature or a high resolution scanned one.
A sequential certificate number, so records can be checked and duplicates spotted.
An optional short code or QR code that opens a verification page on your own website.
Formats
A4 landscape is the most common format for certificate design in Dubai because frames and document wallets for it are easy to buy locally. Awards presented on stage sometimes move up to A3.
| Choice | Options | Consider |
|---|---|---|
| Size | A4 210 × 297 mm, A3 297 × 420 mm | Frame availability and how it will be posted |
| Orientation | Landscape or portrait | Landscape gives long names room; portrait suits formal academic styling |
| Stock | Heavy uncoated, textured or pearlescent card | Must accept ink signatures if signed by hand |
| Finish | Foil, blind embossing, a raised seal | Adds authenticity; each needs its own artwork layer |
| Personalisation | Printed with names, or blank for hand lettering | Merged names avoid handwriting errors in large batches |
Bilingual names
Name fields are where certificate design in Dubai most often breaks. An English name may be twelve characters; a full Arabic name with father’s and grandfather’s names can be four times longer. We test the layout with the longest and shortest names in your list before approval, and set rules for when the type size steps down rather than letting a long name run off the page.
Arabic is set right to left, as the W3C Arabic layout requirements explain, and the Arabic block needs its own alignment rather than being centred under the English by eye. Dates and certificate numbers are digits that read left to right inside Arabic lines, so we check each merged field in both languages. If your programme titles need translating first, our Arabic and English translation service handles marketing text, while any sworn legal translation in the UAE must be done by a translator licensed by the UAE Ministry of Justice.
No printed certificate is impossible to forge, but a few measures make copying obvious. Fine background patterns lose detail when photocopied. Metallic foil and embossing do not scan convincingly. Sequential numbers let you confirm whether a certificate exists in your records, and a verification page on your site lets an employer check it independently. A company stamp or seal area adds a physical mark for signed originals.
Certificate design in Dubai looks strongest when it matches the rest of your identity, from logo to letterhead. Each project starts with a fixed written quote, scoped to your brief, and ends with the master design, merged files for printing or emailing, and notes for your printer on any foil or embossing.

Attestation applies to documents issued by the relevant authority, such as a licensed institution or government body, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs certifies the signatures and seals on them. If you are that issuing body, we can design your layout, but the attestation process itself sits with you and the authorities.
We design a master with marked fields, then merge names, dates and certificate numbers from a spreadsheet you supply. You receive one print file per certificate or a single multi page file, whichever your printer prefers.
Yes. The same layout can be exported as a PDF per recipient for email. A verification code or QR code linking to a page on your own website helps third parties confirm the certificate is genuine.
It is optional and depends on your audience. If you include both, label each clearly and check the Hijri date conversion against a reliable calendar for the issue date, since a mismatch looks careless on a formal record.
