The Salesforce solution data model
Which objects, fields and relationships represent the business, decided once and built for change rather than reworked with every new requirement.
Salesforce
A single design owner for how Salesforce clouds, data model and integrations fit together, before a team of developers and administrators starts building.
A Dubai business usually starts to look for a Salesforce solution architect once more than one team, cloud or system needs to work off the same Salesforce data without contradicting each other. A sales team running Sales Cloud, a support desk on Service Cloud and a finance system that needs order data are each straightforward on their own, but the moment they have to share records and stay consistent, someone has to own that design before developers start building against it. That ownership, not any single feature, is what you hire a Salesforce solution architect in Dubai to provide.
The role sits between the business and the build. A Salesforce solution architect translates what the business actually needs into a target design: which objects hold which data, how sharing and visibility rules keep the right people seeing the right records, where automation belongs versus where custom code is genuinely required, and how the org will connect to whatever sits outside Salesforce. Get this design wrong early and every team that builds on top of it inherits the problem later, which is exactly why the role exists as a distinct hire rather than an extra task for a developer.
What the role owns
These are the decisions a Salesforce solution architect makes in Dubai before development starts.
Which objects, fields and relationships represent the business, decided once and built for change rather than reworked with every new requirement.
Role hierarchies, sharing rules and permission sets that give each team access to exactly the records they need, no more and no less.
How Salesforce exchanges data with an ERP, a website or another system, and which patterns and APIs fit each connection rather than treating every link the same way.
A defensible line between what Flow and declarative tools should handle and where Apex genuinely earns its complexity.
How Sales Cloud, Service Cloud or another cloud share the same underlying data without duplicating or contradicting each other.
Documented design decisions a developer or administrator can follow without re-deciding architecture on every ticket.
Skills that matter
Evidence of real design decisions, not just familiarity with the platform.
| Skill or tool | What good looks like | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Data modelling at scale | Has designed an object model that survived real growth, not only a demo org | A poor data model is the hardest and most expensive thing to unwind once a business depends on it |
| Sharing and security design | Can explain a role hierarchy or permission set design they built and why | Overly broad or overly restrictive access both cause real business problems later |
| Integration patterns | Knows when to use a real time API call, an event, or a scheduled batch, and why | The wrong pattern for the volume or timing of data causes failures under real load |
| Multi cloud experience | Has actually connected two or more Salesforce clouds around one shared data model | Single cloud experience alone does not expose the conflicts that appear once clouds share data |
| Communicating trade-offs | Can explain a design decision and its cost in plain language to a non technical stakeholder | Architecture decisions carry cost and risk the business, not just the Salesforce team, has to accept |
Salesforce’s own Platform Integration Architect exam guide sets out the integration judgement a strong architect should hold, from evaluating the current system landscape through to designing and maintaining the solution, and it is a fair basis for questions when you hire a Salesforce solution architect in Dubai.
Ways to work with us
A short consulting engagement is usually the right entry point: we assess what exists today, or what is planned, against your actual business processes, then leave you with a written target design covering the data model, sharing and integration approach, priced as a fixed scope rather than open ended time. A growing Dubai organisation running Salesforce across several teams often keeps an architect on a dedicated basis instead, since design questions keep arising as the business changes rather than settling after one project. If you would rather this person sit permanently on your own payroll, recruitment support is the route: we write the role, shortlist and run the technical assessment, and you make the hire. A one off project fits a single, bounded piece of design work, such as planning how a new cloud will join an existing org, delivered as documentation your own team then builds from.
Assessing a candidate
Questions that reveal how someone actually thinks through a design.
These checks form part of our own technical assessment during recruitment support, and they work equally well if you are interviewing candidates yourself before you hire a Salesforce solution architect in Dubai.
Rather than describing a diagram, have the candidate explain one object or sharing decision from a past project and the alternative they rejected, and why.
Two teams that need visibility into overlapping records but different editing rights is a fair thirty minute exercise, and how they reason through it matters more than the final diagram.
Every experienced architect has a design they would now build differently. Someone who cannot name one has probably not owned enough real decisions yet.
Ask what pushed a past project toward a real time connection instead of a scheduled batch, and what would have changed that answer.
Request a sample of design documentation they wrote for someone else to build from. A strong candidate treats this as routine, not an afterthought.
Certifications
A Salesforce solution architect in Dubai is usually judged on credentials built from several exams, not a single test.
Salesforce awards these two credentials once a candidate clears the domain exams that sit underneath each, spanning areas such as data architecture, sharing and visibility for Application Architect, and integration and delivery for System Architect. Someone who has earned both is generally regarded as working at solution architect level, a step below the separately assessed Certified Technical Architect review board.
Ask for the Trailblazer profile, which lists exactly which exams were passed and when, rather than accepting a job title alone. A named domain credential such as the Platform Data Architect exam is periodically refreshed, so the profile date is worth a glance too.
UAE considerations
A Salesforce solution architect working in Dubai should settle both of these while the plan is still on paper.
Salesforce’s Hyperforce architecture provides local data storage in the UAE, which means a solution architect can plan where records are stored as part of the initial design instead of relocating them once the org is already live.
Once a design touches more than one cloud holding customer or staff records, Federal Decree Law No. 45 of 2021 sets the UAE’s baseline for securing and consenting to that data, and a single sharing model applied consistently is easier to defend than a separate interpretation per cloud.
This role sits in our Salesforce category, part of the wider hire developers in Dubai section. Once a target design is agreed, day to day ownership of the platform is a job for our Salesforce administrator page, and the technical build of any connections named in the design belongs with our Salesforce integration developer page. Programmes that stretch across an entire enterprise, not just Salesforce, are closer to our Salesforce technical architect role, and our broader cloud services page covers architecture questions that sit outside Salesforce altogether.
Straight answers
A consultant works mainly inside one cloud, configuring it against a business process. A Salesforce solution architect designs across clouds and systems, deciding how Sales Cloud, Service Cloud or a custom app, the data model and any integrations fit together as one coherent design before build work starts.
Usually not as a standalone engagement. A single cloud, single team implementation is normally well served by a consultant and an administrator working together, with architecture handled as a light consulting review rather than a dedicated design phase.
Some do, but the role is primarily design, review and decisions rather than production coding. Many solution architects can prototype a component to prove a design choice, then hand detailed build work to a developer.
A Salesforce technical architect, sometimes called a Certified Technical Architect, sits above solution architecture and is assessed through Salesforce's own review board across an entire enterprise programme. A solution architect typically owns the design for one programme or a defined set of clouds within it.
Yes, through consulting. We assess the current data model, sharing rules and integrations against your actual business processes and hand over a written set of findings and a target design, rather than a generic checklist.
