How a UAE company should own, staff and run a YouTube channel: Brand Account setup, access by role, what to publish, Arabic and English, playlists, the analytics worth watching and embedding videos on your website.

Good YouTube channel management for a UAE business starts before the first upload: the channel should sit on a Brand Account owned by the company, with staff and agencies given roles rather than a shared password. After that, the work is a steady routine of useful long videos, clear titles and descriptions, chapters, thumbnails, playlists and a monthly look at a small set of numbers in YouTube Studio.
This guide is written for companies in Dubai and across the UAE that use YouTube to answer customer questions and support sales, not for creators chasing views. It covers ownership, access, publishing, Arabic and English, analytics and embedding, as of October 2026.
Key points
The most common problem we see is a business channel created years ago on a former employee’s personal Gmail. When that person leaves, the company loses control of its own videos, its subscribers and its history. Fixing ownership is the first step of YouTube channel management, and it is far easier to do on day one than to untangle later.
YouTube Help explains that when you create a channel with a business or other name, the channel is connected to a Brand Account, which lets it use a name different from your personal Google Account. A personal channel is one only you can manage, while a channel created under a business name can have more than one owner or manager. The steps are simple: sign in on a computer, open your channel list, choose to create a new channel, then set the name, handle and profile picture.
YouTube now recommends channel permissions over Brand Account roles for giving people access, because they let others work in YouTube Studio without anyone sharing a password. According to YouTube Help, if the channel sits on a Brand Account you may need to switch to channel permissions before you can invite people, and invitations expire after 30 days if they are not accepted.
The roles below come from the YouTube Help page on channel permissions. Match each person to the smallest role that lets them do their job.
| Role | What YouTube says it can do | Who usually gets it |
|---|---|---|
| Owner | Full control, including deleting the channel and managing permissions | The business owner or marketing head |
| Manager | View all data, manage permissions, edit details, create, publish and delete content; cannot delete the channel | An internal marketing lead |
| Editor | Edit nearly everything and upload and publish content; cannot delete published content or manage permissions | Your agency or video team |
| Editor (Limited) | As Editor, without access to revenue data | Freelance editors |
| Subtitle Editor | Add, edit, publish and delete subtitles on eligible videos | A translator |
| Viewer, Viewer (Limited) | See channel details and analytics without editing | Management, sales or finance |
For most businesses that use an agency, a sensible pattern of YouTube channel management is company owners at the top, one internal manager, and the agency as Editor. That way the agency can publish and optimise, but it cannot remove access or delete the channel. Review the list every quarter and remove anyone who has left. Any agency offering YouTube channel management should ask for a role invitation; if one asks for your password instead, treat that as a warning sign.
People search YouTube the way they search Google, and a good video keeps answering the same question for years. So the core of a business channel is long form video that is useful to someone about to buy. For a small team, a realistic YouTube channel management rhythm is one long video every two weeks, with a few Shorts cut from it.
Shorts sit alongside this as a sibling format. YouTube Help says that, for standard channels, square or vertical videos of up to three minutes uploaded on or after 15 October 2024 are treated as Shorts. Use them for one tip from a longer video, then point viewers to the full version. Our guide to short form video in Dubai covers that format in depth.
Two practical reminders before filming. Recording in public places or on many sites in Dubai can need a permit, which our Dubai filming permit guide explains. If an outside presenter or creator promotes your business on camera, read our note on UAE advertiser permit rules first.
In day to day YouTube channel management, the upload screen deserves most of your time, because it decides much of a video’s search value. YouTube Help sets a limit of 100 characters for a title and 5,000 characters for a description, and its tips page suggests choosing one or two main words for each video and featuring them prominently in both. It also points out that viewers see only the opening lines of a description before they tap to expand it.
Titles. Write the title as the question or task the viewer has, in plain words, with the most important words first. “Golden visa for property investors: the documents you need” tells a viewer exactly what they will get. Leave the company name out unless people search for it.
Descriptions. Use the first two lines to say what the video covers and who it is for, then add a summary, a link to the matching page on your website, a related playlist and contact details. YouTube Help recommends a unique description for each video, with a default description for details that repeat.
Chapters. Chapters let viewers jump to the part they need, which matters on a long webinar. According to the YouTube Help page on video chapters, you add them by listing timestamps and titles in the description, the first timestamp must be 00:00, you need at least three timestamps in ascending order, and each chapter must be at least 10 seconds long. Your own list overrides automatic chapters.
Thumbnails. YouTube Help says a custom thumbnail needs a verified account, and recommends 16:9 for videos and 9:16 for Shorts, as JPG or PNG, within the Community Guidelines. Keep business thumbnails simple: one clear subject, a few large words that add to the title, and one layout across the channel.
For a UAE business this is one of the biggest decisions in YouTube channel management, because it shapes every upload after it.
| One channel, translated | Separate Arabic and English channels | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Videos in one main language, with translated titles, descriptions and subtitles | Each channel publishes in its own language, often with its own presenter |
| Best for | Product demos and explainers where the visuals carry the message | Businesses with distinct Arabic and English audiences and enough material for both |
| Effort | One upload, plus translation work per video | Two publishing schedules and two sets of analytics |
| Risk | Viewers who want spoken Arabic may still leave | A channel that runs out of content and looks abandoned |
YouTube supports the first model directly. Its Help Center explains that you can add translated titles and descriptions to your own videos from the Subtitles section of YouTube Studio, and that YouTube will show the title and description in the right language to the right viewers. It adds that translated titles and descriptions can appear in search results for viewers who speak those languages. The YouTube Help overview of translation tools lists the options,, and the Subtitle Editor role lets a translator work on captions alone.
Our advice is to start with one channel and translated metadata, and split into two only when both languages have a steady supply of videos. Write Arabic titles and subtitles for Gulf viewers rather than running them through a machine. Our translation services team handles subtitles and titles, and our guide to translation versus transcreation explains when a line needs rewriting rather than translating.
Playlists turn a list of uploads into something a viewer can follow. Group videos by the question they answer or the stage of buying: “Getting started”, “Product demos”, “Webinars”. YouTube Studio lets you edit a playlist’s title, description, privacy and order, and reshuffling playlists every few months is a quick part of YouTube channel management that gives older videos new viewers.
Your website is where videos often do their best sales work, so put each demo on the matching product or service page. The YouTube Help page on embedding explains the basics:
Embeds add weight to a page, so load the player only when the visitor clicks play. Our website speed optimisation work often starts with this fix.
For a business, a monthly review of four YouTube Studio metrics, followed by a check of enquiries, tells you most of what you need. YouTube Help defines them as follows.
A business channel succeeds when it sends qualified people to the next step, not when it collects views. Tag the links in your descriptions so your website analytics shows YouTube as a source, and ask new enquiries how they found you. Good YouTube channel management connects those numbers each month: which videos drew impressions, which kept attention, and which led to a call or a form. Our web analytics service sets up that tracking.
YouTube features, limits and menu names change often. Everything here reflects YouTube Help as of October 2026.
Our YouTube channel management work for businesses in Dubai and across the UAE covers channels the company owns: Brand Account setup and access by role, a publishing plan built on your customers’ questions, titles, descriptions, chapters and thumbnails, and bilingual Arabic and English metadata. Video itself comes from our media production services, including commercial videography for demos and brand films, social media videography for Shorts, and motion graphics for explainers that need no camera.
We do not promise views or subscribers. What we offer is a clear plan, honest monthly reporting and a written fixed price proposal, usually within 45 minutes during business hours.
Straight answers
Often yes, if the person who controls the channel cooperates. YouTube Help explains how a Brand Account owner can add new owners and transfer primary ownership, and a new owner must wait seven days before becoming primary owner. Start while the person is still with the company, because without their access the process becomes much harder.
Usually not. The Editor role lets an agency upload, publish and optimise videos while ownership and permissions stay with your company. If the relationship ends, you remove one role and nothing else changes.
No. Shorts and long videos live on the same channel, and YouTube decides a video is a Short from its length and shape. Keeping them together lets Shorts point viewers to your longer videos and builds one subscriber base.
A video on its own is not a substitute for a well built page on your site. Embedding a relevant video on the page that answers the same question gives visitors a choice of reading or watching. Treat YouTube as its own search channel alongside your website.
Publish only as often as you can keep quality up. A steady schedule of useful videos that answer real questions does more than a burst of uploads followed by silence, which makes a channel look abandoned.
